Unexpected, poetic, heart-wrenching at times, but always so unusual: this is the idea of femininity – but without any preaching, thank you – that is hidden amongst the folds of the illustrations by the young French artist, Inès Longevial (@ineslongevial)

Intensity is the key to a sophisticated selection that has a Spanish flavour to it – the colours of Almodovar and the lines of Picasso – that guided the painter and illustrator’s hand right from the start. She avoids stereotypes and labels to gift pure emotion and poetry to anyone who gets to know her work. The same sentiments set out using unique colour combinations that exalt the Roberto Collina collection where Inès Longevial’s painted poetry becomes the material and coloured vibration that turns the brand’s knitwear into works of art.

An incredibly soft fibre, obtained by combing a particular breed of rabbits, becomes the vision of Roberto Collina eco-sustainable luxury, where sophisticated natural, artisan techniques work together to produce a warm, 100% cruelty-free garment. The difference lies in the “kind” procedure by which the wool is obtained, or rather the combing - and not shearing – that collects only the shedding fur that has reached its maximum length without casing the animals any trauma whatsoever. To the contrary, it helps them.

The result is a high-quality, warm and extra-green yarn that is used in the brand’s most spectacular pullovers for the winter season too, made in warm colours and models that are so beautiful they are perfect as Christmas presents and…. to show yet again how we can still have a ‘green’ conscience while being glamorous at the same time!

This is a busy autumn season for Valeria Fortini, the student chosen by Roberto Collina as protagonist of the level one Master’s course in “Creative Knitwear Design” held at the Accademia Costume&Moda in Rome and Modateca Deanna. Valeria is working hard on her capsule collection that will be shown for the brand in the next edition of Pitti Filati in January.

Developing her Nordic them, Valeria is concentrating on 6 outfits (for men and women) inspired by Iceland and in particular taking ideas from the work of a group of artists who have made this subject and all its various facets the centre of their production, Art in Nature.

Focus on contrast: amidst oversize silhouettes and micro details, neutral colours – white, beige and grey – accented by strong colours – red and yellow mainly. The designs chosen to optimise this mood linger on the play of floating yarns, jacquard patterns, stripes and hand embroidery… would you like to find out more? Stay tuned!

That isn’t a threat but a unique piece of advice for Roberto Collina women who want to give that extra touch of sensuality to their daily lives.

The best ally for the brand’s knitwear is a très souple, naturally elegant texture, silk acetate, that glides over your skin and allows your to be seduced by the charm of wool, creating a truly unique love story.

Flowing, soft, and ideal for daily wear, the texture designs an uber-feminine, A-line midi skirt in a bright lilac colour, while for an afternoon with a vintage feel, there is the button-through chemisier with belt, with its golden colour that makes all the difference. How about an evening that is all about seduction? The answer for that is a long, enveloping slip dress, in black, of course.

The essential lines of the garments provides their inherent elegance and they are suited for being worn with Roberto Collina knitwear, in an irresistible mix&match.

Know how and paying attention to current trends are the right combination that have always been typical of Roberto Collina’s magic touch that has once again shown how to turn this input into knitwear.

The winter collection, outer wool that looks like fur: that isn’t a play on words but the very essence of the woman’s mini bomber jacket created with a special printed yarn that creates an innovative fur effect when knitted. In addition, the mix and match of colours that continue uninterrupted in a dynamic and hypnotic rhythm in hues of grey and blue, make these garments truly unique.

Pastel colours, frontal shots, perfect, ultra-stylised symmetry: the director Wes Anderson has a well-defined aesthetic style and it only takes a little practice to be able to recognise this style everywhere, in interiors and urban contexts

A thread that Wally Koyal, a Wes Anderson fan, has used, together with travel and architecture, for his Instagram account @accidentallywesanderson, that has a huge fan community that shares the images taken all over the world to produce this “lookbook for avid travellers and aspiring adventurers” that is constantly updated. Real-lofe buildings, interiors and landscapes that look like they have come straight out of the director’s cult films and that are filled with colours and symmetries, geometric patterns and shots, just like the inspiration for the Roberto Collina FW19 Collection.
